I knew when we started our farm stand that packaging was something I really wanted to focus on. I know I’m way more likely to buy a product, and probably even share a product on social media if the packaging is cute. Plus, it makes my job of advertising our products online so much easier when I have cute products to sell. Our farm stand currently sells produce, eggs, our famous cookies, bread, jams and more.
Psst, here’s the TLDR shopping list, use these links and I get a tiny commission to help support our family, thank you!
Thermal printer
Thermal stickers
Sticker stand
Cellophane bags for cookies (5×7″ easily fits 3 cookies)
Bread bags
We bought egg cartons and berry baskets in bulk from webstaurantstore.com, but if you’re not looking to invest a couple hundred dollars you can find these egg cartons and berry baskets on Amazon.
Farm stand cookie labels
I created our own labels using a simple Canva design, then I print them using a thermal printer. A quality thermal printer is going to save you so much money down the line. Thermal printers don’t require ink, they just use special paper to print your image.
I love our Munbyn thermal printer. I can print everything I need with my phone. I also bought a cheap stand for the stickers as they’re being printed to help the process and these are the thermal stickers I use and order over and over again (About $8 for 750 stickers). Note this isn’t the best picture, it’s definitely a still from a video because our thermal printer is packed up for the off season.
I love the design I came up with for our cookie labels, the ingredients are snuck in the design in the circle around the flavor name. I put a second label on the back of our cookies with our logo and address so I have all my bases covered to meet our cottage laws in Wisconsin.
Here’s a template to my cookie labels. You can use these labels for other things too, I tweaked them a little bit to use them for other things too, like strawberry jam, bread, and more. Free farm stand cookie template
We use these 5×7″ cellophane bags for our cookies, they self seal and they’re so easy to use. I definitely recommend these, but be careful if you place them in the direct sun as they’ll end up with condensation. Our stand is covered enough that this wasn’t an issue until late fall. We also use these plastic bread bags for our sandwich bread.
We also bought egg cartons and berry baskets from Webstaurantstore.com, but it cost a ton (shipping is ridiculous, and you need a crazy expensive membership to avoid shipping) the good news is I probably have enough extra egg cartons and berry baskets to last several more seasons. If you’re looking for Amazon alternatives, try these egg cartons and these berry baskets. 1 quart is the perfect size berry baskets for a lot of different kinds of produce.
That’s all we use for packaging so far! I hope this helps you out, comment below if you have any questions!
