Aliceana is unschooled, which means she picks her learning path, and we find really fun ways to learn with a pretty loose curriculum. We love to travel, explore new places, play with science experiments, read, play games and more. Aliceana is pretty obsessed with other YouTubers that she watches on YouTube Kids. So we decided that she could start her own channel with our help.
So Gator School was created.
Why call it Gator School? Aliceana has a ton of nicknames, but the one we use most is “Gator” as in Ali-Gator. So it seemed fitting and extremely fun.
We just started the channel this past week and we’re having a ton of fun with it. We already have 6 videos about fun things we’ve done, like bowling, visiting an art museum, testing our backyard soil, and more.
I feel like unschooling and homeschooling, are topics with a lot of stigmas, and I feel like this channel is a way to illustrate that we do learn in a lot of different ways. Teaching can be unstructured, it can be fun, and it can be effective in a lot of different ways.
So I hope you join us on our journey with Gator School, I’ll be sharing some of the content right here on the blog. We would also love if you subscribed to the channel! We’re hoping to get 1,000 followers by her golden birthday on July 6th.
