Even though I was attending my very first blogging conference two weeks ago in Chicago, I was swamped with private events.
The first event I attended in Chicago was The Baby Ladies Baby Shower. The event was working closely with the Saving Babies Through Screening Foundation, a great foundation that I first found out about when I was pregnant with Aliceana and read Cora’s Story. I definitely encourage you to read about Cora’s Story here.
The party itself was amazing, we were on the skyline terrace of a hotel with a gorgeous view of the city. It was so great being able to talk to brands about baby gear and meet other moms. This party was especially great for me because I got to meet some awesome bloggers that I know like Christa from Little BGCG and her adorable daughter Kyla! It was a really great party and the perfect kickoff to my weekend in Chicago. I have to say, after this party I’m now drooling over the Contours Bliss stroller and all of the Joovy products that were on display.
The next party I headed to was Social Luxe. Of course I was too confident in my directions and got lost on the way to the party, then I couldnt find the venue and must have walked past it several times. When I did arrive it was super awkward since it was during the awards ceremony, and everything else was winding down.
Then it was off to the Mom Central World of Whirlpool event. I can’t say enough good things about the World of Whirlpool venue. It was like Heaven for me. Kitchenaid mixers and beautiful Maytag and Whirlpool appliances were everywhere. Not only did they have the greatest appliances, they were all arranged in the most dazzling kitchens.
We got to inspect each every appliance and could check out the rooftop, complete with herb garden, four over the top grills, a magnificent view of the city, and a clock tower.
Oh…and they had a couple KitchenAid mixers.
I call that gold one the C3PO of KitchenAid mixers.
See what I mean about this venue being Heaven?
Being able to see the World of Whirlpool was the greatest experience and definitely one of my favorite parts of Chicago.
After that I was off to Sweet Suite. The venue was gorgeous, full of bright pops of colors and so many toys!
The first thing I noticed was a tv screen with some sort of 8-bit video game. When I got a better look I was ecstatic. It was Adventure Time in video game form from D3 Publisher. I spent almost all of my time at Sweet Suite playing this great dungeon crawler video game. It’s multiplayer so that’s even more fun. I can not wait for it to be released this Fall!
After containing my excitement about video games, I was off to meet my husband at Yappem’s Awesome Party. It was truly awesome.
The Awesome Party was located in the Navy Pier Crystal Gardens, a phenomenal venue!
They had great raffle prizes (we didn’t win, but it was still nice!) and candy and sweets galore. My favorite part was the venue here too. The Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier are gorgeous, and right next to the Ferris wheel that’s lit up at night. This was a great way to end our Thursday night.
Friday I only went to one private event. The Mom Select Swag Suite. It was like a mini expo to meet new brands and see new products. Some of my favorite products were the Patch preschool toys (Aliceana is a proud owner of a new MyPad from this line of toys) and Cosmo Camp, very cute interactive story book and coloring apps for kids that I just adored.
Saturday night AJ and I went to a screening of Disney’s Delivery Man. It was a fabulous movie and I highly recommended it to everyone, but I can’t give more details than that until it comes out this Thanksgiving!
The Disney after party was my last event of the weekend and a perfect way to wind down. AJ kept getting asked if he was Chris Pratt, it was pretty hilarious.
I was just excited to drink a glass of wine while listening to music from The Little Mermaid (coming this October to Diamond Edition Blu-Ray!)
It was a great weekend full of private parties, and I had a great experience at each one. It was great to be able to see just how different each event was. The best part of all of the parties was meeting new bloggers and brands.
