My Summers in High School were consumed with my first job. I worked at our local park running a couple children’s rides and boat rentals.
I had a lot of memorable times at that job; like the time I was clinging on to a dock for a good hour while holding on to a bumper boat motor, or my first kiss in the train tunnel (I’m embarrassed just writing that!)
I spent more hours than I want to think about in that park. Driving the mini-train, running the carousel, and dealing with an endless amount of families.
So now that I have a family of my own I was so excited to bring Aliceana to the park to ride the train and carousel. She seemed a little nervous on the rides, but she did pretty good. No crying, but also not a whole lot of smiles yet!
Then we made a quick trip to the petting zoo. She kept telling the goats to “sit.” (They didn’t listen.)
Overall it was a great little family outing! I can’t wait to go again!
How have you shared a piece of your childhood with your children this Summer?
