I’m a part of the Netflix #StreamTeam, this post is part of a sponsored conversation. All opinions are my own.
Last month, AJ and I got to tour Netflix Headquarters (along with other StreamTeam members.) After touring Nteflix HQ, I think I’ve found my dream job. It’s a little bit like pop culture exploded in this building. You can find fun things in almost every cubical (I saw a Dalek poking his head out of one, I walked off before it could say “Exterminate! Exterminate!” I was wearing a Tardis dress afterall.) Get ready to see lots of pictures, this post is ful of them!
This is a station in the middle of an office. Full of game consoles and TVs. How fun is that?
It’s such a fun environment at Netflix. I loved this wall, it’s fun trying to find your favorite show titles. I found quite a few of my favorites!
All of the rooms are named after TV shows, it was such a great touch. We all roamed around looking for our favorite shows and movies. Here’s Shaun of the Dead.
Here’s the Sex and the City room. the other ladies were on the other windows, but who doesn’t love a giant Charlotte?
Even the bathrooms are fun. No Men/Women signs here! Instead you choose whether you’re a Marge…
Or are you a Homer?
They have posters from Netflix shows and Netflix originals everywhere (most of the originals were on staircases, so we didn’t want to stop and take pictures and create a traffic jam.) Here we were with Mr. Don Draper.
They gave us a great lunch. When we entered the balcony we were greeted by this great sign with all of our logos!
Can you spot mine? How about AJ’s?
I had AJ snap a pic of me. I thought my outfit was pretty fitting for visiting Netflix.
After lunch we heard all about what’s ahead for Netflix. There are so many original Netflix programs in the works, I can not wait. I think they should slow down though, because I already have too much catching up to do. I can’t wait to share some of the titles that are coming out closer to the release dates. There’s one show in the works that had my 80’s kid of a husband incredibly happy.
I’m so excited about all things Netflix. We definitely discussed just how great Netflix is for showing our children the TV shows of our past and how it actually helps us make a great connection as a family.
then we got to hear Piper Kerman speak. It was amazing. If you don’t know who Piper Kerman is, she’s the writer of Orange is the New Black. I definitely recommend reading her book, whether you watch the series or not. I ended up buying the book after watching Season 2 of OITNB on Netflix. I just needed to see what was real and what was fiction. It was probably one of my favorite books to read. Piper is such an amazing woman, for both having the strength to get through 13 months in priosn and writing about the most difficult time in her life.

One of my favorite parts, was hearing that Piper and her husband Larry love the character’s of the show even though they’re very different than the people that they are based of. Larry’s only complaint is that he’s not a struggling writer like Larry in the show, the real Larry is actually a very successful writer.
Piper is wonderful and witty. She definitely had the room of bloggers laughing.
We all got to take pictures with Piper at the end of the event.
Another thing I got to see at Netflix were their 2 Emmy Awards! They should be adding 7 more to that case, after winning SEVEN Emmy Awards at the Emmy Arts this past weekend.
Actually…I think they might need another case!
I was so excited that Uzo Aduba won Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series (although I was hoping Laverne Cox would score an Emmy, maybe next year!)
I have to say I’m not an award show person, but I can not wait to watch the Primetime Emmy’s next weekend. I’m going to be cheering on all of the ladies of Orange is the New Black (and all of the other Netflix nominees!)
Who are you rooting for this weekend at the Emmy Awards? What is your favorite part of Netflix Headquarters that I’ve showed you?
