A great sophisticated gift basket can be so easy to pull off, I’ll walk you through my gift basket building strategy.

First, I brainstorm at home and before leaving for the store  I need a game plan going in. I decided a cupcake holiday themed gift basket would be extremely fun to give to a friend, I know I would love to receive a cupcake themed basket!

I knew my basket would include the essentials that you need to bake cupcakes; cake mix, cupcake liners, frosting, sprinkles, cupcake pan, whisk, and Cupcake wine. Yes, wine is essential in cupcake baking, didn’t you know?

Bonus: You can buy all of these things at the grocery store, perfect for those last minute hostess gifts when the other stores are closed!

I went in with a general game plan, but I also let the store inspire me. My gift basket needed some more holiday flare. I found this adorable plush moose for $3, and a box of holiday cookies that would fit well with the theme of baking.

When building a gift basket it is so important to add a personal touch. I decided that I needed to bake a little treat. Just a back up, in case the lovely recipient of my basket is lazy or burns her cupcakes in the oven. To make an adorable cookie container I washed out a Pringles container, wrapped it in some cute wrapping paper and used a little washi tape on the ends.

Don’t worry, the cookies fit with the theme. See?

These are pretty delicious and extremely addicting, if you want to give them as a gift you might want to double the recipe so you know, some actually make it into the package.

I love that gift basket idea. And I love the idea of reusing the Pringles can. I’m going to do that with my cookies too. Great way to give them without getting crushed
