Tropical Brandy Slush

If you’ve been reading my posts this week, you know I hosted an awesome party this past weekend. The party was Gears of War themed so the signature drink of the night was a tropical brandy slush (although, during the party it was called imulsion which is an element in the Gears of War games).
This is probably my favorite adult beverage. It’s just so tasty! I really can’t describe just how great it tastes, it has a tropical fruity flavor. You can’t really taste the alcohol, which could be dangerous as this drink is so yummy you might want a few. Fortunately, you can’t exactly drink these fast without getting the dreaded “brain freeze” a built-in way to force you to pace yourself!
This is definitely the perfect drink for a Summer barbeque, but you can definitely enjoy it in Winter as well! The slush is to be mixed with a soda, I prefer Diet Mountain Dew, but have also found that it’s yummy with 7-Up and Ginger Ale. I normally have a couple choices of clear sodas if I’m serving this at a party.
I know that you’re dying to make your own. So below you’ll find the recipe. Remember to drink responsibly, and enjoy these only if you’re of legal drinking age (they’re worth the wait).
(there is quite a bit of Green Tea in this recipe, I’m definitely not a fan of Green Tea and can safely say you can’t really taste it once it’s combined with the fruit juices.)

Ingredients Method

Ingredients

  • What You'll Need:
  • 1 Can of frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 1 can frozen lemonade
  • 2 cups brandy the quality of brandy isn't a huge deal, we normally get the cheapest bottle we can find since we're not brandy drinkers
  • 4 bags of Lipton Green Tea
  • 2 cups sugar
  • Ice-cream bucket for storage

Method

  1. Boil 2 cups of water and let all four tea bags steep and cool.
  2. Boil 7 cups water and stir in 2 cups of sugar until dissolved. Let cool.
  3. Add both mixtures to ice-cream bucket, add frozen orange juice and lemonade. Stir well.
  4. Place covered in freezer, stir once a day for 3 days.
  5. To serve add slush to a glass (about 2/3 full) then add citrus soda of choice.

I hope you love this drink as much as I do! It will always be one of my favorites!
